Wedding Invitation FAQ
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS and ANSWERS about Wedding Invitations
Q. If I find an invitation I like, can I order it
on a different color paper?
A. No, the invitation comes only in the color
of the sample.
Q. Can I have different wording
than what is shown?
A. Yes, any printed wording can be changed. You can have whatever wording you choose on ANY invitation. However, if words or designs, such as gold rings, or the word love, are incorporated into the design of the paper, this cannot be changed.
Q. Can I add ribbon or a bow to an invitation?
A. Any invitation can be embellished with a stick on bow. Many companies offer this option for an additional charge. However, you would be responsible for attaching the bow to the invitation. This is what is meant by “customer assembly required”.
Q. How long does it take to get the invitations?
A. Once the order has been approved, invitations are generally printed and shipped within 3 to 5 days. Depending on the shipping time, you should receive the invitations within 2 to 3 weeks after the order has been approved.
Q. When should I order my invitations?
A. Invitations should be ordered 3 to 6 months prior to the wedding date. This allows for proofing, printing, shipping and addressing. You will need to have the details of the ceremony and reception confirmed as well as a fairly accurate count of the guest list.
Q. Should I get a proof?
A. It is a good idea to view a proof of your invitation to be sure the font you have chosen looks good with your names and the wording you have chosen. Most on-line invitations can be viewed with your information prior to placing an order.
Q. Will the proof be the same as my invitation?
A. For on-line invitations, yes, the layout and wording will be as for your invitation.
