Wedding Day and Rehearsal Help
Wouldn't it be great if you could clone yourself so that you could handle all the details of your wedding rehearsal, ceremony and reception? There would be no stress because you could attend to every detail and make sure everything is being carried out according to your master plan. Unfortunately, cloning yourself is not a realistic option, however, asking someone to act as your clone, is!
The Clone of the Bride can, and probably should, be several different people. The object is to ask others that you trust to be as picky and detail oriented as you are, to help you! By letting other responsible friends and family members manage all those last minute details and questions, YOU, the Bride, can relax and enjoy yourself.
Look to friends or family members (sisters-in-law, cousins, aunts, nephews) anyone with a calming influence, and/or organizational skills to handle some of the tasks you won't be able to do. Also check with the catering manager where you are hosting your reception - many of these duties are included as part of your wedding reception package.
Your Clones will help you pull off the day of your dreams without a hitch!
Here are some ways your "Clones" can help:
- Coordinating your wedding rehearsal - keeping everyone on track and answering any questions. Making sure everyone knows their part. How about a friend or family member (not someone in the wedding party) who has recently gotten married?
- Being a calming influence - also very helpful for the Mother of the Bride- perhaps a favorite aunt or your mother's best friend?
- Assisting you getting dressed - The maid of honor generally helps with this. You'll need help putting on your slip, dress and shoes - if your shoes have buckles, you'll need help with those, too.
- Keeping track of personal items - your purse and extra shoes - during the ceremony - taking these items to the reception, if desired.
- Maintaining a handy "emergency kit" with supplies - extra panty hose, aspirin, lint brush, needle and thread, etc. Sometimes the photographer has these items, emergency kits are available for purchase or make one up yourself well ahead of time.
- Ceremony prompting - prompting groomsmen when to bring the runner down the aisle- prompting bridesmaids when to start walking in- cueing the organist when you are ready to make your entrance and other prompts as needed. The groomsmen will need help - how about the same person who helped everyone for the rehearsal?
- Picking up after the ceremony - making sure pew bows, the unity candle and other personal items are taken care of while you have pictures taken. Holding these items for you or giving them to a designated person for safe keeping.
- Acting as contact person - for your photographer, caterer, florist and other vendors on the wedding day. Your catering manager may assume this responsibility, be sure to ask.
